µ is a 15-year old, heavily genetically modified girl just beginning her high school career. She's rather introvertive by nature, but as the story begins we see her opening up to the odd kids that befriend her at Wilkinson High (Lerxstwood). She hails from the affluent suburb of Seventeen Corners, outside of which she's rarely ventured. She's rather interested in navis, and has a rare cream-colored Rickentosh 4003.

Kirara
Molly "Kirara" Sureza is one of the more infamous ∫ at Wilkinson High (Lerxstwood). She's got looks on her side, and she's got the navi skills to match. Socially, she alternates between giddy outspokenness and uncertain quiet. She wears a dynamic dress, which tends to have a drifting cloud pattern on it. Her navi of choice is also the quirky Rickentosh 4003, hers in a powder blue.

Nenée
Nenée Melody is one of the finest navi-manipulators in Suburbanite. She's usually quiet and reserved, but she has a temper and can be downright mean if provoked. She wears a semitraditional Japanese/Korean dynamic dress, which tends to display stylized animations of the cellular Life simulation. Her navi is a pearly black custom job from Omni-Parker.

Hifumi
Hifumi Bender appears to be a "regular" 23rd century kid, but his interests and disposition attracted him to the ∫ contingent around Third Navi Academy, where he skipped 2 grades. He acts as something of a control element in the small group of friends at Wilkinson High (Lerxstwood). His navi is a second-hand Gibsdium SG.

Torn
Torn Zurek has just moved to Urbanite from a nearby colony, and he was quick to befriend the others at orientation. His mature appearance and attitude make him appear considerably older than he is. He wears a dynamic shirt that he always scripts to display the same flat gray color. No one is quite sure why he didn't just buy a regular gray shirt. His navi is something of a hybrid of several different models, in a Gibsdium case.
